The Automated Software Tester/Software Development Engineer in Test will be a key member of the Software Development team, to ensure that our products meet the standards expected by our worldwide customer base. You will create Automated Tests to support the ongoing development of our products, working alongside developers to influence the design of testable code.
Role Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Analysing requirements and designing test cases for new features, and then automating them in C++ and Google Test, whilst the feature is in development.
- Create and maintain a full and robust automation suite to prevent regression.
- Provide estimates for tests cases and support BAU processes.
- Peer review of test cases and automation code.
- Reviewing test results and modifying the test suite as necessary.
- Execute exploratory testing where scripted testing is inappropriate.
Skills and Experience
- A good bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Software Engineering or a related subject, with a demonstrable interest in Computer Graphics and/or Software Testing.
- A good working knowledge of C++, with experience of other languages such as Python or PowerShell also being beneficial.
- Experience with automated test tools (e.g. Google Test, Selenium etc).
- Experience with Behaviour Driven Development and tools (e.g. Gherkin, Specflow).
- An understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with software version control systems e.g. Git.
- Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task.
